21/7/2019 Wells kicked his jumping campaign off at Pakenham with an impressive and tough win in the Mosstrooper steeplechase. After sitting last in the field he was given a patient ride by his regular rider Richard Cully hitting the lead in the straight to hold off a late challenge by Lucky Tonight. It was a great effort as it was his third consecutive Mosstrooper success.

 

At the same meeting young hurdler Comics just having his fourth race over the jumps finished a gallant second to Gobstopper in the feature Brendan Dreshler hurdle over 3500m working to the line nicely over the concluding stages of the race. He has now had a win and three seconds.
